ROSE ISLAND, NASSAU

Huge Development and Catamaran Cruises, Near Nassau

Rose Island is a elongated 240 acre island 4 miles northwest of Paradise Island, in Nassau. It is know for two things; catamaran cruises from Paradise Island that spend part of the day on the beach, kayaking, snorkelling, volleyball, etc. It is also the site of a huge development of the Ritz-Carlton (see below).

Rose Island Ritz Carlton Development

Gencom Group, will develop The Ritz-Carlton Rose Island, Bahamas, which is just four miles off Nassau and Paradise Island in the Caribbean.

The exclusive luxury resort, which is scheduled to open in late 2009, will sit on Rose Island, a 230-acre private island. The resort will feature a 180-room Ritz-Carlton hotel and more than 400 residential units that will include condo hotel units, villas, townhouses, private estate homes and a 40 Ritz-Carlton Club fractional product. It is envisioned that there will be rental programs available to all the homeowners.

Other features will include a 300 slip marina that will provide full retail and marina services, a helipad and a ferry from Nassau and Paradise Island for homeowners, guests and visitors, various swimming pools, a luxury spa and several dining alternatives, including specialty and casual restaurants.

The Flying Cloud Catamaran Cruise

The Flying Cloud, a 57-foot catamaran, sets sail for entertaining and exciting trips around Nassau Harbor. The half-day sail/snorkel adventure lasts about 3-1/2 hours, and features a high-speed sail to Rose Island, which is four miles from Paradise Island where you board, and where you can swim in the ocean, snorkel a nearby coral reef, or just lounge on the beach. The evening sunset cruise lasts about 2-? hours.....
