MAYAGUANA DIVING

The Island: What Makes it Different

mayaguanadiving

Come Snorkel in Mayaguana, the most southeastern island in the Bahamas. 110 square miles of virtually uninhabited land, where the Turks and Caicos peoples migrated to, around 1812. This island is a favorite stopover of many yacht enthusiasts on their way to the Caribbean. The beaches are unspoiled and natural. The wooded terrain, the soft white beaches, the calm and serene atmosphere beckon the traveler looking for a small, secluded, and romantic get-a-way. The inhabitants make their money by fishing and farming. Its major form of communication is the mail boat, which comes in once a week. This sleepy little island is a romantic couple's paradise. Privacy and peacefulness is this island's charm. The largest hotel on this island is 16-room facility that offers unmitigated access to the beach. Some of this island's activities include excellent sailing, sport fishing, scuba diving, shelling, snorkeling, and an easy walk along any of its pristine beaches.
