LONG ISLAND FISHING  If you've come to fish then you've definitely come to the right place. Long Island could very well be called the fishing capitol of The Bahamas. It offers not only one type of fishing but really offers virtually all types of fishing including the very popular bonefishing, reef fishing, trolling, hawaiian sling spear fishing, sports fishing, fly fishing, deep sea fishing, good old fishnin' on the rocks Bahamian style and occasional tournament fishing. Whatever your fishing desire you could fulfill it here on Long Island. Here you have the shallows and flats on the western side perfect for bonefishing, reef fishing, fly fishing and spear fishing. On the eastern side or what the locals call Nor'side is deeper water leading into the ocean good for sports fishing, deep sea fishing and tournament fishing. There are many experienced guides here that will take you on a day or half day of fishing you will never forget. Long Island fishing especially bonefishing has been featured in countless magazines because of it's popularity.
A large current stream called the North Equatorial Current runs right into the shores of the island, bringing with it a myriad of fish. Dolphinfish, blackfin and yellowfin tuna, rainbow runners, sailfish, white marlin, bonefish and more can all be found near Long Island. Long Island Bahamas fishing licenses can be obtained at customs when you enter the country. You will need a Long Island Bahamas fishing license to catch and keep fish. |
