ELEUTHERA AIRPORTS
There are three airports on Eleuthera (North Eleuthera ELH, Governor's Harbor GHB, and Rock Sound RSD).

If you want to go to Harbour Island, the best airport to fly ito is North Eleuthera Airport (ELH). Rock Sound Airport (RSD) has mostly flights from Nassau, but they do have some flights from Twin Air of Ft. Lauderdale.

First let's discuss some generalities, before getting into flight specifics. It is not always easy to get to Eleuthera, and you want to try to get the fastest, least expensive way to get there.

From the USA and Canada: you want to either fly directly to Eleuthera from Florida, or fly directly to Nassau from your city of origin.

From Florida, you must fly one of three airlines to Eleuthera: 1) Continental, 2) Twin Air, or 3) Lynx Air from Ft. Lauderdale, Continental from Miami.

BOOK THE CHEAPEST FLIGHT TO NASSAU

DIRECT FLIGHTS TO NASSAU: There are some cities in the USA which fly directly to Nassau:

NASSAU TO ELEUTHERA

Once in Nassau, you have three possibilities to get to Eleuthera
1) Bahamas Air
2) Southern Air charter
3) Bahamas Fast Ferries

Consult the ferry schedule, but you might find this possibility part of the adventure of going to Eleuthera!

FROM EUROPE
Best way is to fly British Air or Virgin Air to Nassau, then one of three possiblities above to get to Eleuthera

USA, CANADA TO FLORIDA

So, the best, most common strategy for the wily traveller to Eleuthera, would be to get to Ft. Lauderdale, or Miami as cheaply and early as possible.

then take
1) Continental, 2) Twin Air, or 3) Lynx Air from Ft. Lauderdale, or Continental from Miami.

As you know, it sometimes helps to stay on the same carrier to get a better rate, with Continental. This would apply if you come from major hubs of Continental, which include
1) Newark
2) Cleveland
3) Houston
4) Tampa

FROM FT. LAUDERDALE TO NORTH ELEUTHERA, GOVERNORS HARBOR, AND ROCK SOUND
Twin Air is based in Ft. Lauderdale; every day it has a different schedule; to consult their daily schedule, Click here

FROM FT. LAUDERDALE TO NORTH ELEUTHERA: Lynx Air is based in Ft. Lauderdale, and flies to both North Eleuthera and Governors Harbour. Consult their schedule. These flights are nonstop, and direct.
Island Express has a daily flight from Ft. Lauderdale to North Eleuthera

FROM FT. LAUDERDALE TO GOVERNOR'S HARBOR Lynx Air is based in Ft. Lauderdale, and flies to Governors Harbour. Consut their schedule. G These flights are nonstop, and direct.

FROM NASSAU TO ELEUTHERA A very reliable way to get to Governors Harbour, or North Eleuthera from Nassau is Southern Air. Check their schedules

There are NO direct flights from Miami to Eleuthera on Bahamas Air

There are 5 flights/day from Miami to Nassau; at 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. There are two flights/day from Nassau to Governor's Harbor, at 6:30 a.m., and 6:15 p.m. And, there are two flights a day from Nassau to Rock Sound at 8:30 a.m., and 3:15 p.m
But, BEWARE, flight times have been known to change, so check with BahamasAir beforehand

AIR CHARTERS
Yellow Air Taxi is a new charter service that flies from Ft.Lauderdale, and West Palm to Eleuthera.
Charters from Ft. Lauderdale, Cessna 401 seats 4 passengers, Other Options, too.

"Air Charter Bahamas" flies private charters from the States to all parts of the Bahamas, including Eleuthera. There are "empty leg specials"; the basic rate from South Florida is $850.00 (per trip). Click their icon above to see the specials, and the contact information.

From Nassau, you can take a Bahamas Air Flight to Governor's Harbor in Eleuthera.

GETTING TO FT. LAUDERDALE

Spirit Air can get you to Ft. Lauderdale at a good rate from Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Providence, and Washington
Once you got to Ft. Lauderdale, you can get to Eleuthera via Continental, Twin Air, U.S. Air.

NEW YORK TO NASSAU

Jet Blue starts an exciting new service on November 1st, 2004 with direct flights from New York to Nassau at great rates.

Charter Flights Available

BAHAMAS FAST FERRY: NASSAU TO ELEUTHERA
A new, exciting development is the employment of The Bahamas Fast Ferry, a fast boat that goes from Nassau to North Eleuthera and Harbor Island, as well as Nassau to Governor's Harbor, in about 2 hours. Check their site for schedules, etc. That boat is called the "Bo Hengy". There is another ferry,Seawind, that goes from Nassau to Governor's Harbour on Thursdays. See the website for further info. It also would be a good idea to call, because their schedules change.
