ELEUTHERA ATTRACTIONS THE BEACHES  Eleuthera has some of the finest beaches in the Bahamas, and, in fact, the world. A combination of gin-clear waters, smooth, fine pink sand beaches, and privacy combine to make this the number one attraction of the island. Some of the best include Pink Sand Beach in Harbour Island, Surfer's Beach in Gregorytown, Club Med Beach in Governors Harbour, and Lighthouse Beach in Bannerman Town. ISLAND FARM  Business of Anne and Clyde Bethel, the cook at Mate and Jenny's, Island Farm is located about a mile south of Church Street on Queens Highway in Palmetto Point. REBECCA'S BEACH SHOP  Providing a unique island shopping experience, one of a kind gifts made by Native Born Artist: Rebecca Courtemache. In addition, she is married to local legend, "Surfer Pete". Island Made Gift Shop is a gift shop in Gregory Town, next to Rebeccas Gift Shop in Gregory Town, with the largest array of souvenirs to bring home. Books, T-shirts, shells, t-shirts, and other good stuff fill the friendly shop, located in the middle of Gregory Town, in mid-Eleuthera. HERE for more info... HATCHET BAY CAVES  One of the largest system of caves in the Caribbean, Hatchet Bay Caves are hidden in the wide open space between James Cistern and Hatchet Bay. They give the appearance of a "vaulted cathedral. It is more than a mile long with stalagmites and stalactites the gleam in the tourchlight" (Source: geographica.com). Go HERE for more info...... PREACHER'S CAVE  In 1647 a group that called themselves the "Eleutherian Adventurers" left Bermuda to find a place where they could practice religious freedom. They encountered a storm and the ship they were sailing in ran onto rocks which was later called the Devils Back Bone north of Spanish Wells. HERE for more info....... WINDERMERE ISLAND  The cay off the midcoast of Eleuthera, Windermere is noted for being a tropical home to many English royalty. In fact, Prince Charles and Lady Diana honeymooned there. GREGORY TOWN  Best-known for its great food and exotic tropical drinks like its famous pineapple punch, Gregory Town is also gaining recognition because of its rock star resident, the vocalist and guitar-wizard Lenny Kravitz. Go HERE for more info....... GLASS WINDOW BRIDGE  This famous bridge links North Eleuthera to the mainland of Eleuthera. It is notable because on can see the dark Atlantic meeting the aquamarine Caribbean at the thinnest part of the island. SPANISH WELLS  Spanish Wells is a cay off the North Eleuthera coast. The island is a fishing and farming community of 1,800 friendly people. It from the fresh-water reserves of this island that Spanish sailors renewed their water supply after the long Atlantic crossing, among them the legendary explorer who sought the Fountain of Youth, It is home to the best lobstermen in the Bahamas.
